The minutes ofthe previous meeting were reed and approved as
corrected*
letter from the City clerk was read asking the Planning Commission'
opinion of a machine shop at 47th & Baines. mayor Smith stated that
the original building permit for the machine shop had expired and the
owner had requested a new one. ,uesti ns: Location of land , type
f building, ownership of both land and DULlding, set back and
parking area* Gus Lindquist to check on above questions and contact
other members before making decision to City Council.
New business : Election of permanent chairman and appointment of
one member to the Regional la_-ni g Board. Harry Diets nominated
Gus Lindquist seconded by Jerry Simpson to be permanent chairman
for one year Phil Copps moved that nominations be closed , seconded
by Fred Festere troth motions carried.
Gus Lindquist asked for volunteers to serve on the Regional Planning
Board - no one volunteered so he appointed Jerry Simpson to serve
for the remainder of the year.r. Mayor Smith stated that the Regional
Planning Board vi ll meet in the near future e
Fred Lester suggested that the Planning CorLmission adopt a set of
rules or standards to f ollow and also questioned the Fort as a
meeting place - suggesting City Hall as more accessible to the publice
General discussion followed. Gus Lindquist stated that each member
should have copy of the City Ordinance to know the rules and will
get same from Clerk.
