Those present were : Mrs. Green Mr. Diets , Dr. Ghu1jian , Mr. indquist and Mr. Lester. others present were : Glen Abraham, Don Hoglund, Jerry Simpson, Bob Clark of Seattle and Mayor Sullivan. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mrs. Green stated that she had talked informally with Lyle Arey regarding County Planning Commission and that it is still in the talking stage. She also stated that Lyoyd Meads did not get to Pt .T. because of bad weather. Mayor Sullivan will be raking planning commission appointments at the next Council Meeting. Those members up for reappointment are Mr•Copps Mr. Lindquist and Dr.Chil i n. Mr. Lindquist went to the Puget Power meeting and stated most Chamber of Commerce members were there. Mr. Copps in his speech gave examples of what Puget Power would be willing to do for the community development* Jerry Simpson has agreed to write a series of articles regarding the Planning Commission for printing in the Pt.Angeles paper and the Leader * letter from Cark,Colman & Rupeiks was read regarding work they have already accomplished* All contracts must be looked over by i r.Abr ►hay and approved by City Council* Don Hoglund as a City Council member has been appointed to work with the Planning CommislOnn instead of Mr.Lindsey. Mr. Hoglund brought up the question that the ariel photos would be too old to use. Mrs Clark stated that Gary & gamer who are makigg the sewer survey will be making ariel photos and they will be the ones used. Mr. Lester asked what power, if any, does the Planning Commission have as of now. Mr. Abrham stated the Commission has no actual power and acts only in an advisory capacity to the City Council. Mr. Fester made the motion that the Chairman appoint committee of Planning Commission members to meet with the City Council to reaffirm our position and what we expect to accomplish in this year' s time and also to improve communication with the City Council and to indicate the availability of the Planning Commission for referral of matters relating to planning for their recommendation and study. Diets seconded. Cwd. Committee named by Chairman Green was herself, Mr.Diets and Mr.Lnduite r.Caul i n brought up the question of interim zoning. Mr. Clark stated it would be a policy decision and that an inter in protective o .ng ordinance could be put together in a couple of months without completion of the comprehensive plan if necessary. Mr. Hoglund urged interim zoning regarding constructions vane ion of streets etc. which would be a big help to the City Coun il. Mr. Diets thought interims zoning should gait until the general public knows about it and approved by majority* Mr. Clark showed copies of base maps and gage a talk on the first phase of their work and what they hope to accomplish by ppringe Meeting adjourned. an. adley Secretary.
