PINING C Al s I I MEETING:
meeting was held December 9th at the Fort. Those presamt were :
rs.Green, Mr* Lester , Stuart, Diets , Copps, Chul.Jiant Lind uists
Mr. Owen and Mr. l eElroy of the Port Commission and Ure Abraham
and Jerry Siapson were also present.
Chairman Green stated that our 701 Application has been approved
according the newspapers but no official notification has been
received by the Planning commission nor Clark, Colman & lRapeiks,
Mr. Clark expects notification shortly and will be dere next week
to start working on base maps and getting local people started
on their part of the work.
Lloyed keeds will be in town next Wednesday, December 169 and would
like to meet with the Planning Commission members in the morning
of. the 16the
It was mentioned that the Pte nge es newpaper stated that a County
Planning Commission in Jefferson County is to he formed. Mr. Owen
stated that a county Planning Commission would be of great heft
to the Port Commission. He also suggested that the County Commissioners
and the Port Commissioners be represented with the Planning Commission
as their work has much in common.
Mr. McElroy stated that the Port Commission would cooperate with the
Planning Commission in every way* A map of the floats and dock of
the new boat basin was shown* The first phase will cost o, o .00
and they hope to call for bids the first of the year with the first
phase finished by spring. The present plans call for keeping the
old boat haven for commercial purposes.
Mx, Copps stated that if nine counties and towns are interested
that Puget Power will offer a long-range program f economic
development for the area. There is to be a meeting December lith
t noon at the Surf Cafe and all interested ere urged to attend.
Mr. Lester invited the Planning Commission members to a &i nx er
meeting on the next regular meeting Xanuary 13th. His invitation
was accepted*
