meeting was held November 11th at the Fort. Whose present were:
Mrs. Green, Mr. Diets, Mr. Copps, Mroeter ,, Mre Stuart and Terry
Simpson as a reporter.
The utes of the previous me a ti ng were read and approved with the
change in word from "sewage to "af l ant".
Letters were read from the Dept. of Commerce and Economic Development
and the Planning Commission letters to the Dept
No w rd has yet been received from Washington, B.C. regarding our
application on the 701 program.
Mrs. Green stated that Col. McElroy ofthe Pont Commission is grateful
to the Planning Commission for their help in backing the Port Com. in
their plans for the lagoon* Mrs. Green also stated that the
Science, Literature & Art Club has asked the Port Com, to rake a park
out of the lagoon and they are sending letters to various other
organizations asking their hey.p in the project,
public hearing on the lagoon is to be held Nov. 30th by the Port Com*
and the Planning Corn. is to be represented.
general discussion was held on the role the Planning Commission has
in the over all comprehensive plan. Mr. Stuart suggested a series
of articles in the newspaper describing the duties and plans of the
Panning Commission* Mrs. Green stated that the Mayor does not know
the expiration a.t for each member on the Planning Commission but
that he will have the City Clerk check in the minutes and so advise.
Mr. Lester suggested a change of meeting place to make it more
accessible to the general public, He also suggested having dinner
meetings. Nothing further was done on this as the Port Commission
members have been invited to the next regular meeting to be held
December nth.
