Members present were Nancy Slater, Alan Carman., Jim Campbell, Bon Hoglund, Bob Grimm, and Jim Taver akis- Also present was City Attorney Keith Harper. r'pe . Don Hoglund wrote the commission of his discision not to participate in any Service Activities Incorporated applications due to a threat rade Mr. Hoglund by Mr. John Pickett. r.. Hoglund feels he can no longer be objective concerning Mr. Pickett. Chairwoman Slater also gave the secretary a letter that she had seat the Mayor and City Council concerning this uncalled for encounter with Mr. Pickett threatening a commissioner. The letter will be on file with the minutes. Chairwoman Slater told the commission that there was a Shoreline Management Training Workshop in lLay and everyone was encouraged to attend. The minutes of March 28 1985 were approved as written, Application No. 385-01 Richard Atkinson Variance Request for setback requirements 1234 arfi ld Fort Tcnmsend The applicant vrished to build a garage with a private shop in the rear. This plane he planned to build was the most logical. The garage would be a. single car garage. The applicant stated that just that day he discovered that the project was within feet of the requirement for setbacks. Mr. ' avernakis said that as part of the committee to review the project, h thought that the project was a reasonable request and would fit well in the neighborhood. Mr. Grimm said that he visited the site and measured it with the applicant., He agreed it was a reasonable request, but thought for 12- foot the firing amount for a variance should be refunded. Keith Harper stated that a motion would do well to include that the Building Inspector approve the lot lines. He said that the applicant was responsible for his lot lines being where he says they are. After discussion Mr, Grimm roved to recommend to the City Council that Variance Application No. 385-,01 be approved as it meets criteria in ordinance 1625, Section .10 1971 and that the Council consider deducting amount spend for filing for a. variance., since it is such a small extention into the setback requirements, from the building permit. J10M Tavernakis seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous, �l_ Mr. Carman stated 'there i re problems within the city oncerning property lines and 'a survey may be needed. Mr. Atkinson was instructed by the coiss.ion to legally establish his lot Ines even if the neighbor is using part of it in agreement vrith him. It would be a. good business rove to have a signed document stating that neighbor is using so many feet of his property. It needs to be done vrith licensed surveyor or by someone using standards of surveyors.
