1 • variance for setback requirements . 840 Adams .St.
+ Port Townsend. Wa.
Chairman Garan stated that he had been the surveyor for the -property, but. felt
no conflict of interest. He asked if anyone objected to him being}--pant of the
review for this variance* .-Nome did. ;
Ms. Coburn stated she had just bought the house: She'wanted to rake a kitchen
and porch expansion and found she needed a variance to do it. The expansion
would improve the house and its appearance.
F "
There was no public input.
As part of -the committee, Nancy- Slater said she looked at the property. The
houses in the area have never complied with the setback requirements. She felt
it was a conservative. request for a one-story addition.
Jim Tavernakis, as part of- the committee, said it was a reasonable request and
*was in compliance with the gest of the neighborhood.
After brief discussion, ,dim' Tavrnakis moved to recommend approval of Setback
Variance No. 1286-01 as it was a reasonable- request meeting the criteria.-o
Ordinance 16259 Section 6.10, with no contingcies to add upon. Nancy Slater
seconded the motion and the mote was unanimous. -Ms. Slater would write the
report for the Council.
