HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-13-07PEG Access Coordinating Committee Minutes, 11-13-07
3:40 PM at PTTV. Members attending were Gary Nelson, Mark Welch, Karen
Nelson, Kitti deLong, Tom Opstad. Also attending were Jonathan Strattman and
Steven Emery.
Karen announced new programs that are being including the Halloween Parade,
"Word & Violin" with a Sri Lankan poet and Irish Fiddler, interviews with a
mystery writer and a children's writer, and Veteran's Day programs.
Gary Nelson moved to approve the minutes. Mark seconded. Passed.
Bill Campbell asked when the Community Orchestra can publish a show (web
cast, delayed broadcast). They are waiting to join until there is cable access. In
the show that was broadcast last spring, the sound was not good. Good sound is
a priority for the Orchestra. Mark stated that there has been some adjustment to
the limitor compressor, which has improved the sound some. Steve stated that
we will be broadcasting in stereo as soon as the new equipment is in place.
There was discussion about the limitations of the viewer's equipment and
sometimes poor reception via Broadstripe/Millennium cable feeds.
Carryover: Mark suggested having a meeting with David Timmons.
Flash: Mark stated that Flash works for cable casting but doesn't serve
podcasting or scalable downloads.
4:20 pm. We called Stephen Jacobsen via phone to ask technical questions re:
the proposed play back system proposal. Discussion re: the delay method that
could accommodate scalable media that is Mac -friendly and preferably
scrubbable and down -load -able as a separate entity rather than embedded into
cablecast.
Mark will review Stephen's proposal and write his concerns tonight. It was
determined that we are on the right track but we need to fine-tune.
Next meeting will be next Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at 3:45 PM
Meeting ended at 4:50 pm.
