GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. Contractors working on this project are required to have a Labor & Industries contractor's reeistration
number and a City business license. Failure to provide proof of this documentation prior to work may
result in job shut down while this is accomplished.
2. Temporary erosion and sediment control (TESC) measures shall be installed on-site and inspeMed prior
to beginning construction; call 385-2294. Measures shall include installation of silt fencing and graveled
construction entrance (see attached details). Adjacent rights-of--way shall be kept free of dirt debris. Soils
exposed during construction shall be temporarily stabilized with mulching, plastic sheeting,
etc. Soils shall be permanently stabilized with seeding, plantings, sodding, etc. once construction is
complete. Applicant is responsible for protection of adjacent properties.
3. All elements of engineering including nailing, holdowns, sheathing, and alternate braced wall panels
(ABWP) require inspection prior to cover.
4. Owner or owner's agent shall review and oversee correction of any and all deficiencies notet~ by required
inspections. `
5. Re-inspection is required after inspection report corrections are completed.
6. The Building Department is unable to pass final inspection on your project until Public Works
requirements have been completed and inspected. For Public Works inspection cal1385-2294. A
minimum of twenty-tour hours notice is required Public Works approval must be received prior to
scheduline the Building Department's final inspection
7. Final Inspections are required prior to occupancy; A Certificate of Occupancy is required fora non-
residential project.
8. All building permits ezpire if no progress has been made within six months, or if no inspections are done
by the Building Department within one year. Call for at least one inspection per year to keep your
building permit active.
9. Revisions require submittal & approval prior to making changes in the field. ContaM the Building

SPECIAL CONDITIONS /RESTRICTIONS
1 . See approved engineered plans for resteel and concrete specifications.
2. Welding of connector plates and rebar requires Special Inspection or work performed in
AISC/ICBO approved shop. NOTE: Special Inspector to be listed in "WABO Register" or
provide Building Official proof of ICBO certification PRIOR to any Special Inspection listed in
UBC Sec 1701.
3. Perimeter slab insulation not required. See Wattsun dated 5-16-96.
4. See approved engineered plan for resteel, concrete specs and special connectors.
5. Floor Framing inspection may be done at Framing inspection provided floor framing details are
readily accessible.
6. Dwelling to meet Whole House Fan requirements per WSEC. Plans indicate LPG stove and
Rumford- type fireplace with Whole House Fan choice of "remote (manifolded)" -which
requires a forced air type heat system into which fresh air is dampered and a timer connected
to the forced air fan allowing intermittant operation. This type of fresh air induction is NOT
compatible with the above heating type.
7. Solid fuel appliance NOT required to meet UBC Sec 3102.5.4 emission standards required
after January '97.
8. See approved plans for location of required SELECT STRUCTURAL floor joists.
9. Structure is pole frame with straw bale infill.
10. All framing elements require inspection priortc cover.
11 . Stucco finish per UBC Sec 2508: 3 cement plaster coats applied over metal lath or wire fabirc
lath. See UBC Sec 2506.5 for weep screed requirements.
12. See UBC Sec 3102 for requirements. Inspections required for: Seismic anchorage (4-No.4
steel bars extending full height of chimney with 1/2" grout cover. Vertical bars tied horizontally
18" intervals with minimum 1/4" steel); Flue lining (5/8" fire-clay file or 2" firebrick);
Clearance to combustibles (2'7; Height and termination; Cleanouts (within 6" of base); Spark
arrester; Flue separation (4" minimum); and WSEC (outside combustion air to firebox of 6 sq.
in. with operable outside air duct damper, operable tight fitting Flue damper and tight fitting
glass or metal doors).
13. BG walls @ R-19; AG walls: straw bale walls @ R-50 and wood STD walls ~ R-19. See
Wattsun dated 5-16-96 for further details.
14. Kraft•faced insulation in basement and "structolite adhesive" elsewhere. PROVIDE
DOCUMENTATION for "structolite adhesive" meeting WSEC vapor barrier requirements.
15. Basement wall and ceiling: 5/S" Type X GWB. Floor 1 and Floor 2: Strudolite over straw bale
walls and GWB ceiling.
