On Monday, December 14, 2015, beginning at or about 11 a.m., the Port Townsend
Hearing Examiner will hold an open-record public hearing to consider the above
referenced application involving a new residential development.
The public hearing will take place in the City Council Chambers, located at 540 Water
Street, Port Townsend, WA. A copy of the application and all other related documents
are available for review in the Public Inspection files maintained by the DSD Department
located on the 3rd floor, 250 Madison Street, Suite 301. All interested persons may
appear at the hearing and provide oral or written testimony.
Description: Quimper Village is a 28-unit residential co-housing development designed
for seniors aged 55-years or older. The dwelling units, ranging in size from 910 to 1,335
square feet, have been grouped into eight (8)townhouse style buildings with 3 to 4 units
per building. Other structures proposed at Quimper Village include: a 2,960 square foot
common house; three (3) garage structures, designed for 18 vehicles; a workshop; a 3
vehicle carport; a combination group storage/bicycle parking building; a garden shed; and
a covered recycling/refuse enclosure. Access would be provided via a new public
roadway extended north from F Street and a new project driveway. The private driveway
would terminate in a circular turnaround near the common house.
The 8 townhouse buildings, located north of the common house and other accessory
structures, will be accessed primarily via foot travel along an engineered fire lane. Hand-
operated and/or electric (golf-style) carts will be available for owners' use along the fire
lane. Public sewer already runs along the west boundary of the site and would be
connected to for service. Public water would be extended into the development from
existing facilities lying south of the site in F Street. Additional amenities include on-site
(private) and on-street (public)parking spaces. On-site stormwater management for the
project consists of various low impact development (LID)techniques. The completed
project includes on-site and on-street landscaping along with private and public non-
motorized pathway construction.

Location/Legal Description: The 6.07 acre site lies on the north side of F Street, west of
its intersection with Redwood St. and approximately 575-feet east of San Juan Avenue.
It consists of two (2)parcels of previously unplatted property, all lying within Section 2,
Township 30 North, Range 1 West, W.M. The Jefferson County tax parcel numbers
associated with the site are 001-022-010 and 001-022-011. A complete legal description
for the site, including existing easements which encumber it, are in the project file
available for review at the City's Development Services Department.
