HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-08-21 Water Supply Status ReportPort Townsend Water Supply Status Updated 8/21/15 The City is currently in Drought Response Stage 1 which mandates alternate day outdoor watering restriction. Even numbered addresses are only allowed to water on even numbered days and odd numbered addresses may only water on odd numbered days. Drought Response Plan details are available at https://weblink.cityofpt.us/weblink/0/doc/118749/Page1.aspx Last Friday Port Townsend received approximately ½” of rain and areas of the watershed received an inch of rain. While temporarily helping reduce irrigation demand, it has not significantly impacted the current drought situation. Lords Lake level is 31’ 8”’ with approximately 445 million gallons remaining in the reservoir. The Quilcene Rivers are still supplying approximately 3.5 million gallons per day or about 30 percent of total demand. City water use averaged 1,224,593 gallons over past seven days, 225,000 gallons less than the previous week. Water conservation tip of the week: Sprinklers typically lose 25-50% of the water through evaporation, wind, and surface run off.
