Flow in the Big Quilcene River is about a third of normal for this time of the year. City water use averaged 1,190,000 gallons per day this past week, 417,000 gallons less than the previous week. The City is asking our customers to voluntarily conserve water and minimize outdoor watering now. A Drought Response Plan will be presented to the City Council for approval at the July 201h council meeting and can be viewed at http://citvofpt.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php?view id=4&event id=253&meta id=108272. 2015 Port Townsend Water Consumption&Lords Lake Reservoir Level 2.000.000 40.0' 570 MG 1.800.000 500 MG 35.0' 1.600.000 N 7-. Replacing a 3.5 gpm with a 2.5 gpm model will save about 8.5 gallons per shower, or about 2,000 gpcy. A low- flow showerhead also saves substantial amounts of energy by reducing the amount of water that requires heating. Jefferson PUD offers free shower heads, which may be picked up at 310 Four Corners Road or 230 Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock.
